Welcome to the beginning of your child's school experience here at Ocean Air Elementary!  My name is Sandi Jackson and I look forward to working with you and your child this school year.  We are going to have a rewarding year together making new friends and learning new things!  This is my eighteenth year of teaching Kindergarten in the Del Mar Union School District.  Prior, I taught in the Hope School District in Santa Barbara for ten years, and the Ontario and Savannah School Districts for four years.   In the beginning of my career, I taught grades fourth, third and second; however the majority of my career has been teaching the wonderful grade of Kindergarten.

 

Born and raised in Orange County, I received my bachelor degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and then obtained my multiple-subject teaching credential from the California State University, Fullerton.  I am happily married and have two adult children.  In my spare time I enjoy gardening,trying out new recipes, reading, walking my dogs and playing word games. 

 

I believe that all children have an intrinsic curiosity to learn.  My goal is to provide opportunities for my students to grow and develop their thinking and learning skills to their full potential.   I feel fortunate to work in a district that continually provides training for me to maximize these teaching practices.
